The City of Lander, Wyoming, is seeking a highly qualified, community-focused professional to serve as its next Chief of Police. Lander is a vibrant community nestled in the foothills of the Wind River Mountains, offering a high quality of life, abundant outdoor recreation, and a strong sense of civic pride.

The Chief of Police is responsible for providing strategic leadership, managing departmental operations, fostering strong community relationships, and ensuring the safety and security of residents and visitors. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a commitment to community-oriented policing, and the ability to effectively manage both personnel and resources.

Benefits include 10 paid holidays, 12 vacation days, and 12 sick days a year, medical, dental, and vision insurance, participation in the Wyoming Retirement System (with a generous employer contribution), paid job-related training, and health reimbursement accounts. This position’s Salary Range is Pay Grade 14 which starts at $104,627. Pay depends on experience and current certifications.
